Deborah:
Welcome to Keystone, Colorado, and Keystone Resort. We’re here at the base of the ski slopes in River Run Village, and today I have the unique opportunity to meet with two of the developer/partners for Kindred Resort. This resort is one of the most highly anticipated new developments in the United States. I’m your host, Deborah Clawson, with the American Dream: Selling Colorado. Let’s go.
I am here with Ryan Geller and Shevy Rashidi from the Kindred Resort Group. So tell me a little bit. What is Kindred?
Ryan:
Kindred Resort is I think one of the most exciting things going on in the ski industry right now. It’s a mixed-use project that will have residential, hotel, retail, ski school, spa, three restaurants, and it’s only 55 feet from the gondola. So we’re really trying to transform this base area of Keystone, this awesome mountain, into something that is just world class.
Deborah:
Well, can we take a look inside?
Ryan:
Let’s go.
Deborah):
We are here on the first level of Kindred Resort. Ryan, Shevy, tell me exactly where are we here.
Ryan:
We’re on the public-plaza level. One of the things that was really important to us with this project—and it goes all the way to our name, Kindred—it’s about being together, friendship, group. We wanted to make this the living room of Keystone. It’s heated, so you’ll never have snow up here.
Deborah:
Oh, that’s amazing.
Ryan:
Play games, hang out, have a cocktail, go into the restaurant or bar, or just meet up with friends.
Shevy:
Let’s go check out the pool deck.
Deborah:
So we just walked through the conference and event center—holds, what, 250 people inside, another 100 outside, which is incredible. And now we’re out here on this pool deck—hot tubs, pool, all kinds of amenities for that. Can you tell me a little bit about just this setting?
Shevy:
We’re in the southeast corner of the building, the Snake River wetlands behind us. We have the sunrise to the east, directly that way, at Montezuma, south at the mountain, and then sunset directly to the west right there down valley. And just a beautiful setting. You don’t get a setting like this very often.
When you think about the luxury aspect, we have the first ever private ski club in Keystone right below us, VIP, private ski club. You show up, we valet your car, we have your skis waiting for you at the gondola. You can go take a dip or go downstairs, do your Zoom, or hang out and have a cocktail. It’s like your own private lounge just for the owners and the VIP club members.
Deborah:
What if we decide we’re down there hanging out and we decide we want to go skiing?
Shevy:
You just call them up. They’ll bring your skis to the gondola. Your locker’s right there, you pick up your boots.
Deborah:
Well, that sounds absolutely incredible. So I hear that there’s some pretty great amenities here at Kindred Resorts.
Ryan:
We’ve got great jacuzzis. This is just one of them behind us. You already talked about the ski club, but it’ll be a world-class spa. We have a kids’ club so that everybody feels comfortable here.
Deborah:
What about our furry friends? Can I bring my dog?
Ryan):
This is the only pet-friendly project in the Keystone.
Deborah:
We just climbed five flights of stairs. I just am amazed by the views up here.
Shevy:
We’re about 52 feet above the ground. We have one of the longest ski seasons in the ski industry, sometimes seven months.
Deborah:
There’s also tubing and a snow fort at the top of the hill.
Shevy:
Yeah, the highest tubing in North America, I think.
Deborah:
Well, thank you so much for joining me today. This has been just a treat.
Thank you for joining me today here in Keystone, Colorado. It’s a beautiful winter, snowy day. I hope you enjoyed seeing Kindred Resort, meeting with Shevy and Ryan from the Kindred Resort team. My name is Deborah Clawson. I’m your host of the American Dream: Selling Colorado.
