At that point, the EB-5 investor will need to petition for the spouse by submitting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Form I-130<\/a>\u2014Petition for Alien Relative. However, the spouse will have to go through the entire visa process. In this case, the primary applicant is the EB-5 investor. Also known as the receipt date or priority date, this is the day that the complete petition package\u2014including any applicable fees\u2014is received and filed by the agency, creating a new case. Once this is complete, USCIS issues a receipt notice to notify EB-5 applicants of their priority date and confirming the payment was received.<br \/>\nThe filing date\u2014or priority date\u2014is important because it is helpful in determining the <a href=\"https:\/\/eb5visainvestments.com\/2022\/05\/02\/what-is-the-processing-time-for-an-eb-5-visa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">processing time for an EB-5 visa<\/a>. Once <a href=\"https:\/\/eb5visainvestments.com\/2022\/07\/12\/uscis-releases-new-form-i-526e-eb-5-regional-center-investor-initial-green-card-application-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Form I-526E<\/a>\u00a0has been submitted, EB-5 investors must wait for approval. This is the part of the process that is known to take the longest, as there is a high volume of petitions for USCIS to get through.<br \/>\nThere is a way for visa applicants to check the status of their priority date, using the <a href=\"https:\/\/egov.uscis.gov\/processing-times\/more-info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Check Processing Times<\/a> page of the USCIS website. Applicants will need to select their appropriate form from the drop down menu and they will get an estimate of their processing date.
